"And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him, And the Lord shut him in."

Apologies as I am SO late into writing today's scripture. If any of you have crazy holiday weekends, you'll know what I'm talking about. I am so tired. There were also things that happened this weekend that I didn't anticipate. Shocker. A door in my life closed that I wasn't really prepared for or thought that it would close so soon. If any of you can relate to that, which I'm sure there are, it can be confusing because you're walking into the unknown. It may be sorrowful or maybe it brings a sense of relief to you when it's final. You think, "Thank you, Lord, for shutting it because I couldn't do it by myself."

I'm thinking about a pastor I follow on Instagram and his name is Preston Morrison (I highly recommend you look him up as he's an amazing speaker). He talked about closed doors a handful of weeks back and so I thought about what he said about Noah's Ark. So, that's where Genesis 7:16 comes in. If Noah hadn't been faithful or trusted God with his commands to him as the flood was coming, we would cease to exist. Noah had no idea what rains he would endure, but trusted the Lord with his life that He allowed God to shut them into the Ark that Noah had built for 40 days and 40 nights.

How is it that we sometimes sit here and think that God does not our have our best interest at heart? Sure, a chapter that closes can be painful and filled with pure agony. But when we really sit and think about ALL that God has brought us through, we should be celebrating something that is closing. We celebrate it because God has His hand on us in all things. All situations. All seasons. All thoughts.

I encourage you today to think about a door that's closing in your life and may seem like you're starting from square one and celebrate the way He is working in your life as He may be saving you. Maybe the door is ajar and you don't know what to do, pray about it. Be in constant conversation with Him. Love and trust the One who sent His only son to die for you that He's closing a door just for, possibly, a new and better one to open.

God bless you.
